One of the things that’s important to me is being able to design a closet that meets our needs without being constrained by some standard design. In addition, the room we’re using as a walk-in closet has a unique shape that will require flexibility in the design.
What I’ve found is most online retailers of closet organizers and shelving do provide some type of design tool to help you design a closet. Some of these programs work very well and others are very limited. I happen to really like the program that EasyClosets.com uses on their site. Their design program was really easy to use and allowed me to draw our exact closet plan. They also offer free design services if you’re not interested in designing the closet yourself.
I’ve come up with a walk-in closet design that we really like (I’ll talk about that in a future post). In fact, after pricing the same basic layout with several closet retailers we’ve pretty much settled on the design from EasyClosets.com once they send us some samples. There are several reason I’ve chosen EasyClosets and I’ll be covering some of them in this post and several up-coming posts as we discuss the walk-in closet project.
We are waiting for the samples to make our final decision for a couple reasons. First we’re not 100% set on if we want to go with white or cherry. Secondly the samples will give me a chance to check out the quality of the materails before I go spending lots of money. So far the folks at EasyClosets have been very helpful and easy to work with. They offer free info kits with samples in them and they also are very helpful during the design phase. So be sure to check out more of these posts on the walk-in closet project as we make our decisions.
