Radiant barrier sheathing called TechShield Radiant Barried by LP is an exciting new product. I stumbled upon this product today doing some research and I thought it was a great idea. Next to windows the roofs on our homes are a huge source of energy loss. Whether you’re trying to keep out the heat in the summer or keep in the heat in the winter the battle is usually fought with a roof.
What I’d like to see LP do is combine this product with the same kind of product that Advantec has. This product should also count toward green building points. Hopefully we’ll get to try this out sometime and I’ll let you know what the verdict is.

It might be an excellent product but I would NEVER purchase another product from LP. I was one who had LP siding on my home and had to replace it at my cost - LP only gave us $500.
This is the coolest product! We have friends who installed it in their house and it really did cut their energy bill down. LP went a step further and is now starting to sell the foil in rolls so those of us without the opportunity to build new can install it in our attics for the same type of benefits. While I'm not sure about the points, I do see on their site (www.lpcorp.com/techshield) that they have new green initiatives in place.
I've used a similar radiant barrier product. It is also beneficial to add a spray-on type of radiant barrier. Thanks for the post. LP is a good brand.
