Variable Temperature and Speed Fan Control Trademarks of New PORTER-CABLE® Heat Gun

TOWSON, Md. (Aug. 19, 2010) – PORTER-CABLE has added a powerful 1500 watt Heat Gun (model PC1500HG) to its line of professional-grade power tools, featuring best in class performance and ergonomics at a great price.

“PORTER-CABLE is pleased to bring a quality heat gun to the painters, plumbers, remodelers and woodworkers who prefer features that make their jobs efficient and hassle-free,” said Rachel Lombardo, product manager, PORTER-CABLE. “We focused on the needs of our customers to deliver a durable, user-friendly product for the jobsite.”

The PC1500HG includes a variable temperature dial that ranges from 120-1,250 degrees and a dual-speed fan selector, enabling specific heat and air flow selection for certain applications like scraping paint, removing wallpaper or bending PVC pipe.

An integrated rubber stand is situated on the heat gun, which is more stable and durable than kickstands that can break and potentially damage material. A hanging hook is included for convenient tool storage, and because jobsite conditions vary, there’s a high grade, “outdoor-friendly” durable and flexible cord that delivers the necessary power to get the job done. Complementing these performance-driven features is an OverMold grip that further enhances user comfort and control compared to competitive models.

The PORTER-CABLE Heat Gun will be available in November 2010 at Lowe’s for a suggested retail price of $34.97. It comes with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract and 90-day money back guarantee.
