"Since 1 January 2007, ISBNs have contained 13 digits, a format that is compatible with Bookland EAN-13s." quote from Wikipedia. Prior to this a 10-digit ISBN was used. The list of ISBN's in the recall notice is very suspicious, since many of the books were published prior to 2007. Shouldn't there be 10-digit ISBN listed too? If so, the list is deceptive and misleading. I have a copy of "Lowes Complete Home Improvement and Repair" which was published in March 2000, ISBN 0-376-01098-3. Am I supposed to believe that the error was in the book published in 1999, but not in the March 2000 issue, yet the error appears again in the 2005 publication? It's far more believable that the recall list is designed to minimize the recall rather than protect consumers.
@ Steve - I'm not really sure....I'm just passing on the information that I was able to get from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. I recommend you call the number listed at that link.
Glad I don't have any of these in my collecction. I have the Home Depot counterpart and was dreading the list...

Wow! That is amazing! Electricity is not for novices, that is for sure.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check our books out. Not sure if we have any of these.
I have the Lowes book 978-0-376-00922, but the last digit is -5 instead of -7. My understanding is that this is the "check digit" so don't understand why the number doesn't match. Should I register it anyway?
@ LillyC - Really not sure. You need to call the number and find out.
All: Thought I would update you, I called and found out that the last number listed would have changed when they reformatted from 10 to 13-digit ISBN numbers. So my book ending in -5 instead of -7 WAS part of the recall.
Just thought people would like to know that I have been trying to collect a check from Oxmoor House for almost a year, for 3 books returned to them by me because of the recall. Each time I call the representative says that they will escalate my request and they don't know why I haven't received a check. My request for a check has been escalated 7 times. I also emailed and called and a complaint to the US Consumer Product Safety site that issued Oxmoor House to recall these books. The money is no longer the issue, I want to know if anyone has received a refund????
