I wanted to point out some of the things that have happened since the last update. As you can see in the photo the roof is finally finished. The roof consists of ZIP System sheathing, two rows of Grace Ice & Water along the eaves and finally a layer of CertainTeed Woodscape shingles.
I also wanted to point out the flashing on the windows. Proper Window Flashing is a very important step in keeping water and air out of your new home. There are several self adhered flashing membranes on the market that work well. The key to any good flashing job is to remember to work from the bottom up and think about how a water drop would run down the wall.
So now we’re just about ready to start installing siding. All of the fascia is installed already and some of the corner trim has been installed on the back of the house. Once the front porch is framed we’ll start installing the siding.
