Dremel 4000 Product Review

We’ve been using Dremel tools for years now including both the corded and cordless versions. Dremel tools are extremely useful for almost any task that involves grinding, cutting, sanding, polishing, carving, engraving routing and many more. One of the features that we’ve been hoping for over the years was more power so that was a big focus of our review.

Power

Dremel 4000 Cutting MetalThe new Dremel 4000 exceded our expectations on power and showed us that Dremel has been listening to consumer feedback. The new Dremel 4000 easily powered through several projects that we tested it on. The reinforced cut off blade was able to cut through 16 gauge sheet metal like butter and the sanding wheel easily sanded pieces of Brazilian Cherry hardwood trim. Projects that used to cause the motor to bog down were much different with the new 4000 that didn’t flinch at any of the tasks we did.

Versatility & Innovation

Dremel 4000 Cutting DrywallDremel continues to offer great innovations that make their rotary tools very versatile. Dremel offers quite a few attachments for the rotary tools that allow the tool to be used for hundreds of tasks.

We tested the Sanding/Grinding Guide and the Circle Cutter/Straight Edge Guide that came with the kit we recieved. Both accessories work very well and help keep a rotary tool working in a straight line.

We also liked easy to use variable speed control. Variable speed control is essential for any tool that is used for cutting and grinding materials that range in hardness from steel to wood. The new Dremel 4000 also works with all the accessories for older versions of the Dremel Tool so that’s an added bonus.

Overall Impression

It’s not surprising to use that we loved the new Dremel 4000. Being fans of Dremel for years now we’ve come to appreciate the versatility of a tool like this and it’s one we use often. The new Dremel 4000 packs much greater power in a very comfortable to use power tool. If you don’t own a Dremel we recommend you buy one. If you already own one and you’re looking for more power then the Dremel 4000 is a must have addition.
