Most people call a reciprocating saw a “sawzall” but Sawzall is a model name for the reciprocating saw that Milwaukee made famous. Today most all major tool manufactures sell a version of the reciprocating saw. I’ve used most of them and honestly they are all very similar.
I happen to own the Dewalt reciprocating saw and I’m a huge fan. Probably the feature I like the most is the keyless blade clamp that makes it very quick and easy to change the blades. You can use any manufacturers blades in this reciprocating saw. Dewalt lists the following features on this model:
This tool is great for cutting wood, plastic and metal. I’ve used my reciprocating saw for cutting wood framing members, plastic pipe, steel pipe, bolts, tree limbs and anything else I need to demo. The other thing I like about the Dewalt tools is they all come with a heavy duty storage box which makes storing them really easy.
You can by the Dewalt DW304PK Heavy-Duty 10 Amp Reciprocating Saw from Amazon for $89.00 and get free shipping. That’s a great deal on a really good reciprocating saw that comes with a storage case. You might also want to buy a good set of DEWALT DW4892 12 Piece Reciprocating Saw Blade Set With Case to go with your reciprocating saw.

I have the Milwaukee Orbital Reciprocating Saw 13A. I should have read toolsofthetrade.net before buying it though. The one major downside of this tool is the blade change out. It isn't an allen key based thing but you pretty much do need two hands to turn the little wheel that locks the blade into the saw.
The great thing about this tool is that the handle rotates. I can keep the handle upright and have the blade turned to the side.
I've used the dewalt before and the blade change on it is fantastic. I think I'd still buy my current saw just for the orbital feature.
