I’ve been procrastinating on fixing this issue (almost 2-1/2 years!) until last weekend when I finally had an idea. Why not fill the gap with colored caulking. Today you can buy colored caulking. I bought Dap #18120 10.1OZ Brown Latex Caulk which matches our dark cabinets fairly well. It’s really important to buy a decent caulking gun. They really are reasonably priced and you’ll only need to buy it once if you buy a good one. I’d recommend the Industrial Skeleton Caulk Gun.
As you can see in the photo the gap blends in much better. Finally I can stop walking past the bar cabinets and not notice that glaring gap!
Now if you want to get a more perfect color match then you need to buy the Red Devil 4070 Create A Color Caulk Mixer. With the the Red Devil Color Caulk Mixer you can match any paint color to create a perfect match.
