Where To Buy Refrigerator Water Filters Online

Where To Buy Refrigerator Water Filters

I recently wrote a post about how to replace a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator water filter. Since then I’ve been asked several times where to buy refrigerator water filters for other refrigerator makes and models. So I thought I’d write another post with links to some of the more popular water filters on the market as an easy reference. Next time you need a replacement refrigerator water filter you can just stop by this post and find the one you need. I recommend you buy your refrigerator water filters from Amazon. They have the best prices I’ve seen and carry every type of water filter.

Whirlpool / KitchenAid Water Filters

The Whirlpool and KitchenAid side-by-side refrigerators typically use the filter shown in this picture. These filters fit the Whirlpool and KitchenAid side-by-side refrigerators with the filter access in the base grille. These filters are really easy to replace, you just turn the old filter a 1/4 turn to remove it and re-install a new filter in the same way. While retaining beneficial fluoride, this NSF certified Refrigerator Water Filter reduces chlorine taste and odor, particulates (class II), lead, and mercury. Replacing this Refrigerator Water Filter every 6 months ensures clean, safe drinking water. You can buy the Whirlpool 4396508P KitchenAid Side-by-Side Refrigerator Quarter Turn Water Filter, 2-Pack from Amazon for $55 with FREE shipping.

Whirlpool / KitchenAid / Kenmore Elite Premium Water Filters

Again these filters work with the Whirlpool / KitchenAid and Kenmore Elite side-by-side refrigerators with the filters located in the front base grille. These are the water filters that we use in our Kenmore Elite side-by-side refrigerator at home. You can buy the Whirlpool 4396710P PUR Side-by-Side Refrigerator Push Button Cyst Reducing Water Filter, 2-Pack from Amazon for $63 with FREE shipping.

Maytag / Jenn-Air Water Filters

Use this filter if you own a Maytag or Jenn-Air refrigerator with filter access inside the refrigerator. Simply turn the Refrigerator Water Filter to remove and replace. While retaining beneficial fluoride, this NSF Certified Refrigerator Water Filter reduces cysts, chlorine’s taste and odor, particulates, lead, mercury, and more. Replacing this Refrigerator Water Filter every 12 months ensures clean, safe drinking water. You can buy the Maytag UKF8001AXX PuriClean II Refrigerator Cyst Reducing Water Filter, 1-Pack from Amazon for $37 with FREE shipping.

Whole House Water Filters

If you want even more control of your water then why not consider whole house water filters and water softeners. These are two very different products that you can consider, but then you’re taking your home water treatment to another level.

  • Hello!

Are there other filters I can use in my Jenn-Air fridge? I see filters at the grocery store that look very similar to mine. Is the PuriClean II my only choice?

    Thank you!
    Jessica

  • Just so others know, Part 4396510, is the latest model and more effective at filtering then the 4396508 and costs exactly the same.
Maybe the author can provide a link to the 4396510 at top of article as well (the amazon ASIN for 4396510 product is B00132U2CU)

Amazon is indeed the cheapest place for these filters. I believe the Whirlpool and Kenmore OEM filters are actually manufactured by PUR and probably just relabeled for these appliance manufacturers.

By the way this blog is an excellent source of info, I came here before for some other info and was just doing a search on filter replacements and was surprised to find google hit this one. Kudos to this blogger.

For those of you wanting more info on the tech of these filters, see here: http://www.purwater.com/pur-technology/

Buyer beware you may find these filters even cheaper elsewhere but be careful since others are the selling the original OEM and are offering the Water Sentinel brand as a replacement and it does work but its just a plain carbon filter and the OEM one does more filtering.
