Multi Tools Make Great Gifts

Are you looking for a gift this Christmas season for someone that already has most every tool you can imagine? You might want to consider buying them a multi tool because they are so versatile and useful around the house and shop. The multi tools we’re talking about are the latest generation of high frequency oscillating tools that cut, grind, sand, scrape and perform a multitude of tasks. The following is a list of all the great multi-tools on the market. Some of them we’ve even reviewed!

Fein MultiMaster FMM 250Q

The Fein MultiMaster is arguably the best multi tool on the market. This is certainly one of those tools that you get what you pay for and Fein has created the best in class. The Fein MultiMaster costs $399, however, it’s built to last and will hold up to even commercial applications. If you’re looking for the best, then we recommend you buy the TEXT LINKFein MultiMaster FMM 250Q Top Variable Speed Sanding and Scraping/Cutting Tool with Case.

Rockwell Sonicrafter

The Rockwell Sonicrafter is our second choice when it comes to multi tools. We tested the Rockwell Sonicrafter this year and wrote the Sonicrafter Review. The Sonicrafter is a great multi tool for serious home improvement projects and shop use. If you’re looking for an affordable alternative to the MultiMaster then this is a perfect selection. The Sonicrafter costs $179 which makes it very affordable. If you’d like to buy it then check out: Rockwell RK5102K Sonicrafter Deluxe 72-Piece Kit.

Bosch Multi-X Carpenter Kit

Bosch also has a version of the multi tool with their Multi-X Carpenter Kit. The Multi-X is a cordless version that offers compatibility with the Fein accessories which is a nice feature. The Bosch Mulit-X costs $219.99 which we feel is a great value especially considering the quality of Bosch tools. We also like the fact that it comes with a hard case unlike some of the other multi-tools. You can but it at this link: Bosch PS50-2B 12-Volt Max Multi-X Carpenter Kit.

Craftsman NEXTEC Multi-Tool

Craftsman makes the NEXTEC Multi-Tool which is a cordless version. We recently tested the NEXTEC Multi-Tool and wrote a Craftsman NEXTEC Multi-Tool Review. The Craftsman Multi-Tool is perfect for jobs that don’t have a power source. This is certainly not a replacement for the more powerful electric models but it does have it’s uses. The Craftsman Multi-Tool costs $143.00 and you can purchase it at this link: Craftsman 12 Volt NEXTEC Multi-Tool.

Dremel Multi-Max

Dremel is also making a multi-tool and they now offer the Multi-Max. The Multi-Max costs just $89.99. We haven’t tested this model but we are huge fans of Dremel tools. Seeing that this model is almost half the cost of the next closest electric version it makes a good option for people on a tight budget. You can purchase the Dremel Multi-Max here. You can also read a review of the dremel multimax for more information.
