American Standard at IBS 2011

American Standard

I spent some time walking through the American Standard booth at this years 2011 International Builder’s Show. This year’s focus was all about water conservation, style and our ever aging population.

Aging Population

Over the last few years we’ve seen so many advances in plumbing fixtures that allow seniors to live in their own homes for longer periods of time. American Standard had several really nice products that are designed to provide that convenience that seniors need.

We looked at two products in particular. The walk-in tub shown above and the seated safety shower shown in the adjacent photo.

The walk-in tub offers some really nice features including Whirlpool, Air Spa & Combo massaging options. The tub also features a speed drain option that allows the water to be drained much quicker so a person can get out of the tub sooner.

The Seated Safety Shower is an excellent remodeling solution that can be used to convert a standard shower stall. For this model it offers a comfortable seat, grab bars and attractive wall surround.

Water Conservation & Style

American Standard offers a wide variety of toilets designed to look great with the style of your home and also save water.  They offer a wide selection including:

  • Champion®4, with the industry’s largest flush valve and trapway, producing a faster, more powerful, yet quieter flush;
  • Cadet® 3, a smart design that delivers higher performance and fewer clogs at a great price;
  • FloWise®, which uses 1.6 gpf or less, a considerable water savings over others’ toilets;
  • Aquaforce®, which takes advantage of advanced fluid dynamics to deliver outstanding flushing performance; and ProOne™, a top-rated flushing system.

Whether you’re building a new home or remodeling an older one American Standard has a huge selection of plumbing fixtures to outfit your home.
