Lubricating Wood Screws with Soap
Many of you probably already know about this DIY tip but it’s such a good one that it warrants repeating. If you’ve ever installed wood screws in any type of hardwood you know that it’s a tough task even when you pre-drill a pilot hole. One of the classic examples is installing wood screws in cabinet stiles to join them together. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve broken off a wood screw trying to screw two maple cabinets together. So next time you need to install some wood screws in hardwood try this DIY tip. Just take a regular bar of soap and coat your screw as shown in the photo. You’ll be amazed at how easy the screw enters the hole.
